GG Life Members

With thanks to these wonderful ladies for their long standing dedication and contributions to the Guildford Greystanes Physie Community.

Isabel Bugden

As the founding teacher Isabel opened doors to the Club at just 16 years of age. She went on to dedicate the rest of her life to the club teaching all classes right into her later years. It is difficult to identify how many women and girls she has helped in the Guildford-Greystanes area but it would be in the thousands. She always had time for all her students both on and off the physie floor. Isabels' commitment to Guildford Greystanes Physie is recognised at our annual Junior presentation with the awarding of the "Isabel Bugden Team Of The Year" Trophy. Appointed as Life member in September 2013.

Mauyra Robson (far right)

'Aunty Moy' began physie at Guildford as a young women and remained loyal to the club until her passing in 2015. She attended all competitions placing herself in the front row each time. She remains our oldest member to hit the ladies class. Mauryas contributions are recognised through the "Maurya Robson Most Successful Lady" Trophy each presentation year. Appointed as life member by the committee in 2011.

Lynette Groves (centre)

'Aunty Lyn' came to Guildford with her daughters on the 90s. She was the Club Treasurer for many years and Isabels secret weapon when putting her championship teams together. Lyn instructed girls for extra lessons and continued to be an active member long after her daughters moved away. Lyn continues to support the club with ideas when possible. Appointed as life member by the committee in 2004.

Debbie Cooke (far left)

Debbie also attended the club with her 3 daughters. She took over as club treasurer from Lyn Groves until stepping down in 2012. Also an admirer of our teams Debbie was always in prime position at Homebush for her favourite competition of the year. Appointed as life member by committee in 2013.

Margaret Dunn

Margaret has been an ongoing member of Guildford Club for 35 years. Originally bringing her daughter to classes she soon joined the ladies class. Margaret worked closely with founding teacher Isabel Bugden over many years and has held the committee position of Club Secretary for over 15 years. She works tirelessly and quietly. Margaret enjoys running the Guildford Interclub and is responsible for monthly newsletters. Known as the team leotard lady, teams is her favourite event on the annual calendar. Appointed as life member by the committee in 2015.

Christine Wilson

Christine came to be part of the GG family in 2011, when founding teacher Isabel became unwell. In her time at the club she has worn many hats. Head teacher, treasurer and committee member. She has mentored many young teachers at the club and is responsible for keeping the ship running when Isabel was unable. Appointed as life member by the committee in 2018.
