What is Physie?
BJP Physie is a dynamic sport for girls and women aged 3 to 73, combining elements of ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, aerobic dance, and yoga.

Physie improves health, fitness, and flexibility while developing strong core strength, technique, posture, and control. It is both an individual and team-based sport, offering opportunities to build skills, perform, and form friendships that last a lifetime. Classes are designed to cater for all levels, from beginners to experienced performers, with opportunities to work towards competitions and personal performance goals.

Choreography is updated annually and is carefully designed to provide variety, challenge, and enjoyment. Routines are set to a vibrant mix of music that appeals to both young dancers and those young at heart. Physie is about more than learning routines, it’s about building confidence and empowering girls and women in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. BJP Physie places a strong focus on self-esteem, encouraging a positive relationship with the body and helping students develop confidence and self-assurance through movement.
We are also passionate about supporting total wellbeing, both mentally and physically. Physie is an inclusive and encouraging sport where every member is supported, challenged, and motivated to be the best they can be.

Why do Physie?
Physie is an affordable and accessible sport for Australian families. With just one leotard for the entire year, no shoes required, and acceptance of Active and Creative Kids vouchers, it offers excellent value.

At Guildford–Greystanes, Physie is more than just dance. We provide a friendly and supportive community where girls build strength, confidence, and a sense of belonging, growing into confident young women in a positive and encouraging environment.
History of Guildford Greystanes
Guildford–Greystanes Physie was established in 1956 by founding teacher Isabel Bugden, who began teaching at just 16 years of age. Under her leadership, the club quickly grew to achieve success across Australia in both team and individual competitions.

Today, the club remains one of the longest-established BJP Physie clubs and has continued to experience strong success at championship level in both team and individual events.
